Athletes of the Week – February 12, 2026

 

Nate Helms – Basketball
Nate is currently averaging 18.4 points per game, ranking second in the SSL and leading the Crusaders in scoring, rebounds, and steals. His all-around performance has been instrumental to the team’s success this season. As a vocal captain, Nate leads by example both on and off the court, setting the tone with his work ethic, toughness, and commitment. His leadership and consistency continue to elevate everyone around him.

Logan Moore – Ice Hockey
Logan has been a cornerstone of our success this season. His composure and toughness have made him a player we rely on against our toughest opponents. Logan’s consistent effort and leadership have been instrumental in securing the South Shore League Championship, for the first in program history. He takes pride in doing the little things that don’t always show up on the scoresheet, but make a tremendous difference in winning hockey games. Most importantly, Logan has helped our team “add to the dash,” building a legacy that will have a lasting impact on our program for years to come.

Guidance Appreciation Week!

We would like to a take a moment to thank our school counselors and guidance staff!  These members work tirelessly to ensure our students have all the supports they need from the elementary level up through planning for college.  Thank you for all you do!

Carver Elementary is spreading the Love… 

Carver Elementary Classroom Teachers are participating in the Valentines’ Door decorating contest – another way to show kindness and love in our community!  Doors will be voted on the week prior to Valentines Day!

Grade 4: Dog Adaptations Presentation

Last week students in grade 4 were treated to a presentation from the Plymouth County 4H Extension Program.

    Sponsored by the Middle School Student Government
    Students are encouraged to make Valentine Cards appropriate for adult patients.  They don’t have to be fancy, it’s the thought that counts!  Please note:  Cards should be smaller than 5×7, not store bought, without glitter and without food attached. More information by clicking here.  Cards must be submitted no later than 2/27/2026. Please return completed cards to the red box located outside the MS Guidance office.
    Other Ways to Help: Create a list of additional messages of hope and cheerful quotes and share them with Mr. Wechter.
    Donate unwanted card making arts and crafts supplies.
    Upperclassmen needing community service, may earn 1 hour of community service for every 3 cards (2 hr. max).

  • Animal Shelter Donations
    Sponsored by the Middle School Student Government
    MS Student Government is collecting gently used towels, blankets, and flat sheets for shelter animals!
    The Collection box is outside of MS Guidance.

  • Conway House Shelter – Hygiene Kits
    Sponsored by the High School Student Council
    February 2-11, 2026
    Donated Hygiene Kits for adults or children should be either brought to Mr. Tresca or dropped off at the main office. A Hygiene Kit should include: Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Stick of deodorant, Socks, Hand Sanitizer, a comb / brush, tissues, Lip Balm.  Please make sure all items are new and unopened and keep and all items MUST FIT within a single (1 Gallon) Ziplock Bag.   Download detailed flyer here. Students in Grades 10-12 can also earn 5 Hours of Community Service for (1 Completed Kit).

Crusader Athletes of the Week: January 29, 2026

Matthew Lennox – Boys Basketball
Matthew Lennox had a strong week, scoring 16 points against Westport and 15 points against Middleboro in two closely contested games. Both matchups came down to the final moments, and Matthew consistently made the right plays under pressure. Beyond his scoring, Matthew made a big impact on the defensive end with timely stops in key moments. His poise, composure, and leadership helped guide the team when it mattered most.

Charlotte Rogers – Girls Basketball
Charlotte Rodgers made an impressive impact in her first varsity start against Mashpee, stepping into the lineup with confidence and composure. She finished the game with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, showing her ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. Charlotte’s energy and effort were evident throughout the game, as she battled on the boards and made smart plays in key moments.

Carver Athletics Welcomes Carver Youth Basketball!

Carver Youth Basketball players are invited to attend the Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity Basketball Games on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Carver Middle High School

There will be free Admission for Youth  Basketball Players who wear their jerseys and there will be special recognition at Half-Tim!

General Admission: $5.00 adults – $3.00 students/seniors
Boys Varsity Game: 5:00 p.m. | Girls Varsity Game: 6:30 p.m.

 


 

Zoology Exhibits

Students in Zoology classes hosted the first annual Zoology Conservation Symposium with the goal to educate visitors and persuade them to “donate” money to help save their selected species.  Visitors were able to ask students questions like:

  • “Why are you passionate about your species? “
  • “What conservation issues are threating your species? “
  • “What will you use your “donation” money for?”

At the end of their visit, visitors were able to “donate” the “zoo bucks” they were given upon entry to save the species of their choosing.  Students did an excellent job sharing their knowledge!

BRANDON FRATES – Boys Basketball
Brandon followed up a career high 15 points vs Sturgis with 11 points vs Randolph. Including the game tying 3 pointer to send the game to OT, then the game winner in OT. Brandon continues his hard work from the off season and is starting to see results at the varsity level. Brandon is also a nominee for the Patriot Ledger Athlete of the Week!

LEVON MULREADY – Boys Ice Hockey
Levon has been a driving force for our team this season, serving as our captain and setting the standard every time he steps on the ice. His leadership is evident in both his work ethic and his relentless desire to win, which has become contagious throughout the locker room. He truly embodies our team mantra of “add to the dash,” consistently adding to the legacy of excellence within our program through his leadership and competitive spirit. Through the first 8 games, he has tallied 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points. Defensively, his commitment is just as strong, as he is averaging over one blocked shot per game and sacrificing his body to help the team succeed.
