Congratulations to MET Pathway Student Caleb Perkins on receiving his OnShape Certification!  MET Teacher, Mr. Arruda shared that students in the MET Pathway learn how to model objects in the OnShape computer-aided design (CAD) software and it is a skill that they develop throughout their time in the pathway and culminates in an opportunity to take the OnShape Associates Exam.

Passing this exam demonstrates that the student has mastered their CAD skills in the OnShape platform. This level of certification is recognized by colleges and employers which can help bolster a student’s application and resume. The passing threshold is very rigorous and we should be proud of Caleb for reaching this challenging milestone on his way to becoming an engineering professional!

TRY IT TUESDAY at Carver Elementary School
February 25, 2025

We are excited to announce that we will be continuing our Try it Tuesday event again this year in the Elementary cafeteria where we will be offering samples of fruits, vegetables or seafood. This year our goal is to introduce more varieties of seafood, plant based and culturally responsive foods.

Last month we introduced Bok Choy that we grew in our hydroponic units that the students truly enjoyed and has already been offered on our menu. This month’s Try it Tuesday will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

As we look to create recipes that are more culturally responsive, I am excited to have a guest Chef join us 10 introduce Pupusa and Tamales. Encourage your student to try Pupusa and Tamales at our Try it Tuesday table in the cafeteria and help us move towards greater food acceptance skills.
Click here for more information from the food services department.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Theresa Vernazzaro, District Director of Food & Nutrition Services
