We’re Going WICKED GOLD!

This Friday September 23rd the Carver School community is asking all students and staff to “Go Gold” for Pediatric Cancer.   Students and staff are asked to wear gold or yellow to School, Crusader Fest,  and to Support the Football/Cheerleading Teams at 7 PM, to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and show our continued support for the Kane family.
This is an event that will be going on in multiple towns via the “Go Wicked Gold” Campaign created by the  “Wicked Good Cause ” organization who have supported families affected by cancer, including  the Kane family.  Members of Wicked Good Cause will be at the Crusader Fest and Football game selling “Go Wicked Gold”  items such as bracelets, socks, and headbands.

Citizenship Day, Boston

This past Saturday, on 9/16-Citizenship Day–nine  juniors, accompanied by history teacher Mr. Tresca  traveled to  Boston and helped a nonprofit organization (Project Citizenship) assist applicants through the paperwork process towards becoming sworn in as citizens in a couple of months.

The students responsibilities included:

  • directing the prospective citizens from the subway to the building
  • taking photos for their identification paperwork
  • bringing applicants from a waiting room into the gymnasium to speak to an attorney to go over their paperwork
  • spending time with toddlers in the “children room” so their parents could move through the process steps with more ease.

Mr. Tresca reports, “Our kids were fantastic, so helpful and got so many compliments from both other volunteers and the immigrants they helped!”

Vacancy on Recreation Committee

Carver School Committee announces a vacancy on the RECREATION COMMITTEE for the 2016-2017 school year.  The School Committee has two appointments on an annual basis to this Committee to join other members appointed by the Selectmen/Town Administrator. Interested persons should submit a letter of interest to:
