Last week we asked students and parents to completed a survey on their experiences with remote learning so far.  Linked below is a letter and set of graphs from the superintendent that gives an overview of the survey results.

Also linked is a sample student schedule for parents to follow and a couple of checklist organizers he provided that you may be able to use to better organize your students day.

In addition,  Mr. Knief also wanted to let the community know that Governor Baker signed a proclamation declaring Friday May 1st as “School Lunch Hero Day”.  He would like to thank and acknowledge our cafeteria workers who have been providing lunches for students on a daily basis. They are truly heroes.  Lunches are served from 11:30-12:30 at the Elementary School if you wanted to drive by to say thank you.

School Closure & Remote Learning Surveys

In accordance with Governor Baker’s order, the Carver Public Schools will be closed through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  Our last day of remote learning for students and teachers will be Friday, June 19th.

Carver Public Schools are seeking your feedback on the current Remote Learning plan.

The survey will be open and accepting responses through this Friday, April 24th.  We will use the information from the surveys, as well as additional DESE guidance, and feedback from teachers to revise and adjust our plan as necessary.

There are still many questions to be answered in the coming weeks. We will constantly be evaluating the situation, seeking input from teachers, students and parents to make the best decisions we can for our students.

Please see the links below for the Remote Learning Check-In Surveys.

In addition, please note the following change to the school calendar:

Last Friday, the Commissioner of Education released guidance that if school districts decided to work though April vacation that those days would count as school days.  Based on the fact that many families are at home and looking for the continuity of continuing with school, the School Committee voted last night to have teachers and students work through the April vacation.

Monday, April 20th is a state holiday (Patriots Day) and will not be a school day.  Tuesday, April 21st through Friday, April 24th will be school days.  The staff will post work for that week on Tuesday morning April 21st.  As a result of working through April vacation week, the last day of school, will be Friday, June 19th.

If this decision causes a hardship for your family please contact your building principal.
