Student Exemplary Essays
All students must develop exemplary writing skills in order to achieve success on high stakes tests, such as MCAS, SAT’s, and AP exams, and to be successful in college writing and in their future careers. These high stakes exams require facility with exposition, a mode of composition in which the writer must develop a thesis position with clear, precise, and detailed language. The Carver High School English Department is committed to teaching students to find their writing “voices.” As part of our on-going efforts to help all of our students to write exemplary essays, we publish examples of successful essays. These model papers effectively demonstrate what all of our students must know and be able to do in order to progress in their high school literacy development.
