Decade Days–A Grade 11 Common Assessment & CMHS tradition

Description:

For this Grade 11 common assessment and culminating activity for the “Contemporary America” unit, students research a recent decade (1950’s – 2000’s) in the following areas: politics and world events; athletes and celebrities; pop culture; and science and technology. Students collaborate to prepare a presentation that includes a demonstration (skit, dance, etc.) and a visual/digital aid. On “Decade Day” students dress in clothing from the time period and bring in refreshments popularized during that era.
