Pre-K Peer-Model Screening 2020-21 School Year

The Carver Public Schools’ Preschool Program, located at the Carver Elementary School, is currently scheduling peer model screening appointments for the 2020-2021 school year.  Screenings will be held by appointment only on Fridays in April and May.

A screening is required for acceptance into the program. Children considered are those who do not currently receive special education services and are not in need of special education services. Applicants are expected to demonstrate age appropriate skills (within 6 months) in the areas of speech and language, cognitive/school readiness, fine and gross motor development, and social/emotional and behavioral development. In addition, a child must be at least 3 years of age by September 1, 2020 and toilet trained.  They must also be a resident of Carver and families must provide transportation to and from the program.  Those children found eligible will be entered into a lottery.  Appropriate peer model students who are not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list.  Please note that slots are limited.

This is a fee based program for peer model students.  The fee for each half day session is $12.00.

We currently offer 2, 3, and 4 day half day preschool options as well as a full day PK/K Transitional class for those children turning 4 by September 1, 2020.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the Carver Elementary School Office at (508) 866-6210.

Please note:
If you are a Carver Resident and feel that your preschooler, age 2.5 – 5 (just before kindergarten), has special needs, please contact the Carver Elementary school to schedule a screening appointment.  Screenings are generally held on the first Friday of each month.
