Congratulations to Crusader Athletes of the Week:
January 22, 2025

NATE HELMS – boys Basketball

  • This past week, Nate had 16 PTS, 14 RBS vs Randolph and 22 PTS, 17 RBS vs. Hull in a 2-0 for the team.
  • Nate is averaging 16 Points, 11.7 Rebs, 2.4 Steals per game on the season.
  • Nate was nominated for the Patriot Ledger Boys Basketball Player of the Week.  Go vote now!
  • Team Record: 3-5

ALYSSA VIRDEN – Indoor Track & Field

  • Alyssa placed 4th out of 24 Runners in the 600M at the Winter Warrior HS Meet with a PR of  1:57:71
  • She is very versatile athlete running relays as well as 1000M, High Jump and Long Jump.
  • With a PR of 4-8 in High Jump and a PR of 14’10 in the Long Jump, she is very close to qualifying for states in both, says Coaches Trudeau and Ieronimo

Calendar changes for Mid Term and Benchmark Exams
at Carver Middle High School — January 22-27, 2025

Students in grades 9-12 will be taking mid-term examination based on the schedule listed below.

Note: Friday, January 24th is not a ½ day on the school calendar but it will be a ½ day for ALL students, grade 6-12 in order to accommodate the high school mid year exams and the middle school benchmark exam.

Wednesday, Jan, 22.
Full day of School for Gr. 6-12

Periods A,B,C,E will meet and lunch will be served.  No WIN
12:30 – 2:05 p.m. Period D Exam

Thursday, Jan. 23
Early Release for Gr. 9-12 ONLY

7:25 – 9:00 a.m. Period C Exam
9:15 – 10:45 a.m.       Period B Exam

Friday, Jan. 24
Early Release for Gr. 6 -12 at 10:45a.m.
7:25 – 9:00 a.m. Period E Exam

Students are expected to use the entire testing time for successful completion of their exams and should not be dismissed until the scheduled end of each exam.  All freshmen, sophomores and juniors are to be at school from 7:10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Monday.  One North Bus and one South Bus will be available at 10:45 HS dismissal Thursday, Friday, and Monday.

The Mid Year and Final Exam will each count as 5% of a student’s final grade in each full-year course.  The Mid Year will count as 10% of a student’s final grade in each semester course.

Mid-Terms for Seniors:

  • Seniors are not expected to report during an exam period when they are normally scheduled for an internship, if they can provide their own transportation.
  • Seniors who have a grade above 90 in a semester course are exempt from the exam.  Teachers will notify students who qualify for this exemption by Tuesday, January 21st.
  • Seniors are not expected to report during an exam period when they are normally scheduled for an internship, if they can provide their own transportation.

 


Congratulations to grade 8 student, Sydney Metrano who was selected to represent Carver Middle High School as our PROJECT 351 Ambassador due to her leadership, kindness, and willingness to give to others.  Project 351 is a statewide youth-driven service organization that unites eighth grade students from each city and town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a year of leadership development, enrichment, and impact. Through unique service opportunities, Ambassadors gain skills in order to create positive change in communities.

Sydney will attend the Project 351 conference this upcoming weekend with the other 350 representatives from towns across the state and will begin her year long service project journey!

  • ​COLESON HAS KICKED OFF THE FIRST HALF OF THE 2024 / 25 WRESTLING SEASON WITH AN IMPRESSIVE RECORD OF 20 WINS ANO ONLY 1 LOSS BRINGING HIS CAREER RECORD TO 133 WINS . THIS PLACES HIM WITHIN REACH OF A SCHOOL RECORD .
  • HE HAS SECURED THE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN 3 OUT OF 4 TOURNAMENTS INCLUDING THE SECOND LARGEST  TOURNAMENT IN THE STATE, COMPETING AGAINST 36 OTHER TEAMS .
  • NOT ONLY IS TULLY CARVER ‘ S FIRST MARSHFIELD TOURNAMENT CHAMPION IN OVER 20 YEARS , HE WAS NAMED THE TOURNAMENT OUTSTANDING WRESTLER ANO RECOGNIZED INDIVIDUALLY AMONGST ALL WRESTLERS

Change to Boys/Girls Basketball Game Schedule TONIGHT

Due to an unexpected facilities issues the game schedules this evening for girls and boys basketball have changed as reflected below:

The following boys and girls games will now be played at home:

  • Boys Freshman will play as scheduled at 3:30 p.m.
    Free Admission
  • Girls Varsity will play at home at 5:00 p.m.
    Admission $5.00 and $3 students/seniors (CASH ONLY)
  • Boys Varsity will play as scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
    Admission $5.00 and $3 students/seniors (CASH ONLY)

Girls JV game will be played at 5:00 p.m. today at The Quashnet School, 150 Old Barnstable Rd, Mashpee, MA 02649

The Boys JV game has been cancelled for this evening and will be postponed/rescheduled.

Student Government for Grades 6-8 is sponsoring a trip to Carousel Family Fun Center in Whitman on Friday, January 17th from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm.  Students have a half day and will be dismissed at 10:50am.  Students must return to school by 2:00pm.

The cost of the trip is $20 per student which includes the cost of admission, skate rentals, 2 slices of pizza, drink, and bus transportation.

The first 50 students who return their completed permission slip and payment are eligible to attend.  If your son or daughter will attend, please complete and return this form and payment (checks made payable to the Carver MHS) to Mr. Wechter in room 112 by Thursday, January 9th.
