Available 2018-19 Preschool Role Models

The Carver Public Schools’ Preschool Program, located at the Carver Elementary School, is currently scheduling appointments for screenings for role model slots in our new preschool classroom for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year.  This is a morning program that will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:15-10:45.

Screenings will be held by appointment only on Friday, January 4 and Friday, January 11, 2019.

A screening is required for acceptance into the program. Children considered are those who do not currently receive special education services and are not in need of special education services. Applicants are expected to demonstrate age appropriate skills (within 6 months) in the areas of speech and language, cognitive/school readiness, fine and gross motor development, and social/emotional and behavioral development. In addition, a child must be at least 3 years of age by September 1, 2018 and toilet trained.  They must also be a resident of Carver and families must provide transportation to and from the program.  Those children found eligible will be entered into a lottery.  Appropriate role model students who are not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list.  Please note that slots are limited.

This program for role model students is a fee based program.  Each half day session is $12.00.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the Carver Elementary School Office at (508) 866-6210.

Carver Schools GO GOLD

On Friday, September 28, 2019 students and staff are encouraged to wear GOLD (or shades of yellow) in support of Pediatric Cancer Awareness.
As many of you know September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month.   The Carver Community has always been a strong supporter in the fight against pediatric cancer.  Over the last several years Carver Public Schools has partnered with Wicked Good Cause, a local non profit organization, to GO GOLD for the month of September!!!  Currently all of our Fall Sports Teams are wearing gold socks, as well as many youth programs in town.

Please spread the word (flyer available for download below) and lets make our buildings GOLD for the day.  In addition to posters in the building the Middle High School will host Gold Boots in the main offices and the Middle High School lunch rooms on Friday for any and all donations that will support the cause and help to find a cure for pediatric cancer.

UPDATE: Activity Ban Lifted

This afternoon we were given new information by the Board of Health in regards to mosquitoes with the West Nile virus.  Based on the current information the Carver Board of Health has decided to lift the ban on school events and activities. The town is distributing the flyer available for download below.

Please be advised, that the tests on mosquitoes in Carver will be conducted regularly throughout the fall and we will keep you up to date as we are provided information by the Board of Health.

Should you have any questions, please reach out to the Carver Board of Health.

From the Carver, MA Board of Health.
The Town of Carver is at MODERATE RISK for West Nile Virus

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE BAN FOR ALL ACTIVITIES BETWEEN DUSK AND DAWN HAS BEEN LIFTED

Mosquitoes may continue to be active well into the fall and risk for mosquito-borne illness will continue until the first hard frost in your area. Hard frosts occur when temperatures fall below 28 degrees for several hours.

Do all you can to prevent the bite:

  • Avoid outdoor activities Dusk to Dawn
  • Wear Insect Repellent when outdoors – even during the day
