COYOTE CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE

Congratulations to the first Carver Coyote Champions of Change announced and celebrated at the All School Assembly in February!

    
Cali Ieronimo, Dante Spadoni, Ashawna Miller, Melissa Arcanjo and Austin McDade 
were nominated by staff members and have been seen in their classroom or in the community taking steps to make a positive impact or change. The Champions of Change demonstrate excellent behavior inside and outside the classroom, they are well-mannered, and respectful to peers and teachers.

100TH DAY CELEBRATIONS

It has been a fun and busy month at Carver Elementary! Classes celebrated their 100th day of school with artistic and educational festivities. Kindergarten students moved from class to class taking part in activities like coloring, making 100th day hats, and counting 100 of their favorite things by grouping them in tens. [images and coverage by Intern Melina Berkobein]

Kudos to the Elementary Chorus who performed for the School Committee at their last meeting highlighting both a song that they are working on in school and also a song from the upcoming Elementary Musical, The Lion King.

KINDERGARTEN THANKSGIVING

 

ARTISTS AT WORK
  • We started the year learning how to make bubble letters and creating a four-letter word that best describes us.
  • In art, grades K-5 are learning about the elements of design through collage, painting, and drawing.
  • In grades two and three, students studied shapes while creating a paper collage of someone they knew well.
  • Kindergartners and first graders created autumn trees with warm colors.
  • Kindergartners and first graders studied photographs of insects and recreated the shapes in a paper collage.
  • Kindergartners and first graders made a line sculpture with paper after listening to a poem called Larry the Line.
