AP Exams at Carver Middle High School

Students are reminded to:

  • Arrive on time for your AP Exam. Morning exams arrive by 7:40 AM and Afternoon exams by 11:40 am.
  • Bring your fully charged Chromebook to every exam, along with your charger. You can also bring an approved calculator if you wish for exams that allow a calculator. There is an embedded calculator in Bluebook.
  • Make sure you know your College Board login information; this is how you will access Bluebook and your exams!
  • Students will be excused from all classes on the day of their exam.
  • Morning exams may run as late as 11:30ish – Afternoon exams may run as late as 3:30ish. Please remember this when planning your work or sports schedule on exam days.
  • Students will not have access to cell phones during their exam administration

MET ROV Champions

This weekend, MET 3 Capstone students Madi Duffy, Caleb Halunen, Connor Patton, and Chase Cullum under the leadership of Teacher, Dave Arruda competed with their underwater robot at the New England Regional MATE ROV Competition.

Carver took home 1st place in the Navigator class making them the New England regional champions! They also won two subcategory awards for best technical interview and best poster presentation.

Mr. Arruda shared: “I’m very proud of this group of students for their excellent teamwork. They demonstrated their ability to troubleshoot a variety of technical challenges and communicate effectively. They represented Carver and our MET program in the most positive light!”

Congratulations to the team on this extraordinary achievement!

GRADES 4-5 LITERACY GROUP (LIT GROUP)

4th–5th-grade LIT Group kicked off their first session several weeks ago with a fun icebreaker that helped students connect and think about what makes a school inclusive.

The focus of the lesson was on inclusion, understanding how to make everyone feel welcomed, valued, and included. Students shared ideas, practiced leadership, and explored how small actions like inviting others and showing kindness can make a big difference.

Through the story I’m Not Just a Scribble and a creative self-expression puzzle activity, students celebrated what makes each person unique. The lesson ended with a reflection on what inclusion means to them. Keep an eye out for our Scribble puzzle pieces that represent connection, inclusion, and togetherness in the CES hallways!

We’re so proud of these students for beginning their journey as leaders in spreading love, inclusion, and trust!

Seeking Community Partners

The RISE & SHINE program is the Life Skills and Vocational based program for students in the special education program at Carver Middle High School.

We are currently seeking local businesses who may be willing to offer volunteer opportunities for our students. These experiences are an important part of helping our students build job skills, confidence, communication abilities, and a sense of community involvement.

Our students are eager to learn and contribute in meaningful ways. Volunteer tasks can be simple and flexible based on your business needs, such as:

  • Organizing or stocking items
  • Light cleaning or maintenance tasks
  • Assisting with basic office or clerical work
  • Supporting staff with routine duties

Students are always supervised and supported by trained staff to ensure a positive experience for both the business and the student.

Partnering with our program not only helps students gain valuable real-world experience, but also allows your business to make a meaningful impact in the community by promoting inclusion and opportunity.

Anyone interested in offering volunteer opportunities or wishing to find out more information should email the special education teacher, Nicole O’Neil, at oneiln@carver.org.

Student Council attends SEMASC


On April 15th,  40 HS Student Council members attended the SEMASC Spring Leadership Conference at Plymouth North High School. Our students participated in several leadership workshops and collaborative activities throughout the day.

A special highlight: Sophomore Eli Dansereau ran a fantastic campaign and delivered an impressive speech in his bid for an elected delegate position on the Regional Executive Board.

 

Global Travelers

Under the leadership of Maria Calvo, Karen Showan and Debra Keavy students from Carver Middle High School travelled to Rome and Athens and Quebec respectively during spring break this year!  Many thanks to the students, leaders and chaperones for making these experiences extraordinary!

Crusader Athletes of the Week – April 27, 2026

Sophia Tibbetts
The team captain took first place in the javelin against Abington, qualifying for the State Meet with an impressive throw. She also achieved a big personal record in the shot put, finishing second. Sophia leads by example every day, setting the standard for her teammates through her work ethic and competitiveness. She is currently ranked 10th in Division 6 and 18th in the entire state, highlighting her impact at an elite level.

Kyle Carey
Kyle pitched six innings, striking out five batters while allowing just two earned runs to keep his team in the game. Kyle showed great composure on the mound against a strong Barnstable team. He also contributed offensively, recording one of the team’s three hits while batting third. His performance highlights his impact both on the mound and at the plate.

Crusader Athletes of the Week – April 15, 2026

Levon Mulready

Levon pitched 6 scoreless innings striking out 8.  He also was 2-2 with a triple and 2 stolen bases.  His leadership and attitude are only matched by his performance on the field.  He consistently sets the tone for his teammates with his composure and work ethic. In his Senior year, Levon plans to continue to lead the Crusaders baseball team.

 

Hunter Thomas

This is Hunter’s first year playing competitive Tennis. In the pre-season, Hunter quickly climbed the ladder and became our team’s #1 singles player. Hunter started his season 2-1, with convincing wins over Rising Tide and St John Paul before falling to Wareham in a 3 set Tiebreaker. We look forward to the leadership and skillset Hunter will bring to our team going forward.

April is Math Month at CES
Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 school year! Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten?  Will they be 5 years old on or before 9/1/25?

Administration is asking parents/guardians to register as soon as possible to get an accurate idea of how many students we will welcome this year.

If your student currently attends the Preschool Program at Carver Elementary School, you have already registered in Aspen.   You will be contacted to set up a registration appointment.

Once the online registration is complete, you will be contacted to make an appointment for Kindergarten Screening.

Congratulations to Junior, Ceilidh MacKechnie who was selected by her peers to attend Student Government Day at the State House on Friday. April 10 as the representative for Carver.

 

 

 

Grade 7 Pathways Exploratory

In last Tuesday’s Pathways presentation to 7th grade, the seats in the auditorium weren’t just filled with students; they were filled with future innovators, athletes, scientists, and creators. Grade 7 grade students dove headfirst into some incredible new experiences as CMHS launched a series of upcoming WIN Pathway Exploratories last week that run from April 1st through April 16th.

Meeting the Trailblazers
Our students didn’t just hear about these opportunities; they heard from the experts who live and breathe these fields every day. A huge thank you to our dynamic presenting team: Mr. Ewell, Ms. Waitner, Mr. Santos, Mr. Portelance, and Ms. Young 

From the sizzle of the kitchen to the logic of high-level computer science and the wonders of the lab and workshop, these educators shared how Pathways can turn a standard school day into a hands-on adventure.

Crusader Athletes of the Week – April 8, 2026

Alyssa Virden
Alyssa  has proven herself as a leader and top performer. She has already qualified for the state meet in the 400-meter dash, highlighting her speed and consistency. As the anchor of the 4×400 relay, Alyssa thrives under pressure and consistently delivers strong finishes for the team. She is also just inches away from qualifying for states in both the long jump and high jump, showing her versatility as an athlete. Alyssa’s leadership and all-around performance make her a clear choice for Athlete of the Week.

Lyla Moore
Lyla has kicked off our season strong. Through the first two games, she has already recorded 14 strikeouts, proving her dominance on the field. At the plate, she continues to be a powerful presence in our lineup. Now stepping into her role as a sophomore captain, Lila has quickly proven herself as a leader. She is an invaluable asset to our team. This is just the beginning, we’re excited to continue to watch her grow and succeed on the field this season.

…this week continues with the 2nd day of MCAS ELA for Grades 3-5, Grade 6 ELA on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 7 -8  and Grade 7 ELA on April 9-10. Students are reminded to get some rest, eat a balanced breakfast (at home or school!) and do their best!

Biotech Opportunity for Grade 10-11 Students

J​oin us on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 2:15 p.m. for an interactive college access workshop designed for high school students who dream of pursuing a life science degree. Presented in partnership with MassBioEd.

Seeking Community Partners

The RISE & SHINE program is the Life Skills and Vocational based program for students in the special education program at Carver Middle High School.

We are currently seeking local businesses who may be willing to offer volunteer opportunities for our students. These experiences are an important part of helping our students build job skills, confidence, communication abilities, and a sense of community involvement.

Our students are eager to learn and contribute in meaningful ways. Volunteer tasks can be simple and flexible based on your business needs, such as:

  • Organizing or stocking items
  • Light cleaning or maintenance tasks
  • Assisting with basic office or clerical work
  • Supporting staff with routine duties

Students are always supervised and supported by trained staff to ensure a positive experience for both the business and the student.

Partnering with our program not only helps students gain valuable real-world experience, but also allows your business to make a meaningful impact in the community by promoting inclusion and opportunity.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 school year! Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten?  Will they be 5 years old on or before 9/1/25?

Please visit https://carver.org/carver-elementary-school/new-student-registration-information/ for instructions on how to proceed with our online registration process in Aspen.

Administration is asking parents/guardians to register as soon as possible to get an accurate idea of how many students we will welcome this year.

If your student currently attends the Preschool Program at Carver Elementary School, you have already registered in Aspen.   You will be contacted to set up a registration appointment.

Once the online registration is complete, you will be contacted to make an appointment for Kindergarten Screening.

Cradles to Crayons – Project 351 Clothing Drive

Mallory Doyle, Project 351 Ambassador is hosting a clothing drive for Cradles to Crayons March 30-April 9, 2026.  Drop off at Carver Middle High School.

 

 

Grade 6 Certified Sitters

Seventeen 6th-grade students recently completed the SafeSitter Certification Program. Through the program, students learned CPR, first aid, and how to start their own babysitting business. Over 30 sixth grade students have participated in the Safe Sitter program this year, creating a strong group of trained and responsible babysitters available to support families in the community.

 

L.I.T. Teams

LIT (Love, Inclusion and Trust) teams from both schools had a busy week last week working together on projects and taking it to the streets visiting significant locations in Boston.

A Caring Crusade … 

CMHS Caring Crusaders attended the 9th Annual BE IN THE KNOW Youth Conference which is an event focused on empowering young people to create positive change in their communities. The conference featured interactive activities, youth-led presentations, and a fun photobooth experience. The kids also had the opportunity to win fun prizes and participate in a dance party at the end. The Caring Crusaders – RISE group represented Carver well, and had a great experience.
