The Carver Public Schools will have a one-hour delay on Friday, February 27. There will be no morning or afternoon preschool.
As previously noted, in order to open school on Friday, school bus routes had to be assessed and modified. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our bus drivers who drove their routes today to assess current road conditions. Their firsthand observations allowed us to develop the modified bus routes and stops.
Some routes will remain unchanged, while others require consolidation or temporary elimination of certain bus stops. You will receive an email from the Transportation Department detailing your student’s bus route by no later than 9 pm. The email will include a list of all scheduled stops on that route. If your usual stop is not listed, we ask that you select the stop along the route that you are most comfortable using or plan to drive your student to school.
The modified bus routes will also be posted on the transportation portion of our website at https://carver.org/carver-home/parentsandfamilies/transportation/ by the morning.
Please note: that the times listed on the bus routes reflect a normal school day schedule. Because we are operating on a one-hour delay tomorrow, pickup times will be approximately one hour later than the listed times.
We understand that these adjustments may result in an increase in student drop-offs. One purpose of the one-hour delay is to allow for an extended drop-off window and to provide families additional time as we transition.
Our intention is to return to a normal start time on Monday and to use the modified bus routes only as long as necessary.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding during this time. We will return to our normal busing schedule as soon as conditions allow. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Scott Knief
Superintendent

The Carver Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 26 due to ongoing concerns regarding the accessibility of our bus routes following the historic blizzard.
At this time, we realize that the current conditions in certain areas will not be resolved within the next few days. However, we recognize the importance of returning students to school. As a result, we are actively developing modified bus routes that will prioritize safety and consolidate stops at accessible roads.
Our transportation team plans to run these updated routes tomorrow afternoon to ensure they can be traveled safely. It is our intention to have students return to school on Friday using the modified routes. We will share detailed information about the updated bus stops with families late tomorrow afternoon.
Families will be asked to bring their student to the nearest available modified bus stop or, if preferred, transport their student directly to school. We understand that this may create inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility, patience, and support as we work through the aftermath of this storm.
Detailed information about the plan for Friday will be shared tomorrow afternoon.
Thank you for your continued partnership,
Scott Knief
Superintendent
