We will reach out to any student-athlete that has a missing or expired physical starting on Sunday August 6, 2023

Athletic Update – Information for Todays Baseball & Softball Games

Hello Everyone,

We are extremely excited for today’s MIAA State Tournament baseball and softball games here at Carver Middle High School. As we continue to keep an eye to the sky for the possible inclement weather coming in, we wanted to share our safety plan for today in case we are delayed due to storms.

In the event of a delay, we will evacuate our student-athletes, officials, and coaches to the Carver Middle High School Gym. The teams will stay in the gym as long as we are in a delay. We ask that families and spectators wait out any delay in their personal vehicle. As an emergency shelter, we will offer the main lobby of the gymnasium to anyone that does not have shelter.

Just as a reminder if we are in a delay due to thunder or lightning the process is extremely simple. We evacuate the fields and we will set up a spot indoors for coaches and officials to wait the delay out. The rule for the delay is each time you hear thunder or see a lightning flash we must delay the game restart process by 30 minutes. This restart time will need to be reset each time we hear thunder or see lightning.

In the case of a situation where we deem the fields unplayable after any sort of rain, we will work on a restart date and have one prior to the teams leaving the property. We can assure each of you it will not be on Saturday.

Also, in order to assist each of you with the planning in the future:

  • The winner of today’s baseball game will travel to Douglas on Monday to play Douglas HS.
  • The winner of the softball game will travel to Williamstown, MA to play Mount Greylock Regional HS.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions.
