Drug Take-Back Day

Save the date for the annual Drug Take-Back Day, coming up on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Carver Police Stattion.    This event, sponsored by Carver Cares, allows members of the community to properly dispose of prescription medications and will also host a vaccine clinic and safe syringe disposal option that day too thanks to partnerships with CVS and BAMSI!

Middle School Movie Loft: Hotel Transylvania – Grades 6-8

October 16, 2026

Student Government Grades 6-8 will be showing the movie “Hotel Transylvania” in the auditorium on Friday, October 16 from 2 – 4pm. A $2 donation is suggested for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and students can bring their own snacks or buy concessions in the lobby.

Student council members will host in a Polar Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics Massachusetts on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 2:45p outside the CMHS Gymnasium!

Please Register, Donate and Take the Plunge. If you do not want to plunge.. be a towel holder and cheer on others who plunge!!

This event is open for ALL STUDENTS AND FAMILIES Grades 8-12!! The deadline to register and donate is October 23, 2026. Please spread the word to families and friends. Also, students in Grades 10-12 can earn community service hours too!

Elementary and Middle High School Connections

Thank you to Carver Youth Soccer, Carver Youth Cheer and Carver Youth Football for joining our varsity teams for Youth Nights this past week and to the Cross Country team and Elementary Running Club who ran together last week, too, continuing to build our community connections!

 

Student Council Leaders

Last week, student council members from grades 9-12 attended the annual SEMASC conference where several Crusaders led leadership workshops for students from all over Southeastern Massachusetts. Several CMHS Student Council leaders are also headed to an officers workshop this weekend to further hone their leadership skills.

Senior Certifications

We are excited to share that throughout the month of October, we will be training all senior students to become certified in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, basic First Aid and Narcan. This certification program is part of our ongoing commitment to equipping students with essential life-saving skills that can make a critical difference in emergency situations. The training will be conducted by certified instructors and will include both hands-on practice and classroom instruction, ensuring students gain the confidence and competence to respond effectively in real-life scenarios.

We are also thrilled to highlight our partnerships with Carver Cares, Carver EMS, and our Health and Wellness Pathway. These collaborations, along with our internship program, provide students with unique opportunities to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. By working alongside dedicated professionals and community organizations, our seniors will not only gain certification, but also deepen their understanding of health, safety, and service. This valuable credential not only enhances their personal preparedness, but also strengthens their resumes and college or job applications.

We are excited about the impact these partnerships will have in preparing students to be confident, compassionate, and career-ready leaders in both their communities and future endeavors. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive official certification, which is valid for two years and recognized nationwide. We are proud to offer this important training and appreciate your support in encouraging your student to take full advantage of this opportunity.

Each student will be made aware of which date they should attend.

Student Council has  organized a schoolwide Homecoming Spirit Week Monday, September 28 though Friday, October 2, 2026 with a Pep Rally and Homecoming Football Game on Friday and the Homecoming Dance for students in Grades 9-12 hosted by the Senior Class on Saturday, October 4 . Tickets for the dance will be available during lunches.

Carver Schools Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Research

with Events throughout September with Go Gold Week on Sept. 21-25th where schools will have a gold boot in the lobby and will be collecting spare change to benefit Pediatric Cancer research. Students may also bring in homemade cards to be delivered to children who are battling cancer. On Friday, September 25th students and staff are encouraged to wear yellow or gold to show their support for those in our community who are impacted by childhood cancer.

If you have an interest in chaperoning a field trip or being a classroom volunteer, it is required to have attended a Volunteer Training.  The Volunteer Training and CORI background check are valid once every three years.  For your convenience and planning, the Volunteer Training is offered at several days and times throughout the school year:

Water Update at the Middle High School

As you are aware Carver Middle High School had a “Do Not Drink Order” from the Mass DEP for elevated levels of perchlorate in our water at the end of the summer. The “Do Not Drink Order” was lifted on Friday, August 28th.  As part of the corrective action plan from the Mass DEP we collected additional water samples on Thursday, September 3rd.  The district received the results from that round of testing this afternoon. The perchlorate level in the finished water sample was .21 which is well below the allowable level of 2.0. Perchlorate was not detected in the raw water sample.

 

Elementary Volunteer Trainings

Leadership Lessons for Grade 9

 

On Thursday, September 17th the High School Student Council ran a leadership workshop for the entire Grade 9 class. The goal of the event was to provide an inhouse Leadership & Skill Building opportunity for our high school leaders to engage with the incoming freshmen in small-group, round-table, and large-group workshops focused on collaboration, problem-solving, spirit, and inclusivity.

Many thanks to the Student Council E-Board and Advisor Mr. Tresca and the grade 9 students for their work during this event.

 

Robot Visit at CMHS


Keith Weirich from TechEd came to Carver Middle High School to show off the Stokes G1 humanoid robot to  Robotics classes.  Students had the ability to interact with the Robot and ask questions about the technology. Thank you to Mr. Arruda and Mr. Lyman for making this experience possible for our students.

Water Update at the Middle High School

As you are aware Carver Middle High School had a “Do Not Drink Order” from the Mass DEP for elevated levels of perchlorate in our water at the end of the summer. The “Do Not Drink Order” was lifted on Friday, August 28th.  As part of the corrective action plan from the Mass DEP we collected additional water samples on Thursday, September 3rd.  The district received the results from that round of testing this afternoon. The perchlorate level in the finished water sample was .21 which is well below the allowable level of 2.0. Perchlorate was not detected in the raw water sample.

 

CMHS Open House

Parent/Guardians are invited to attend our annual Open House that will be held on Thursday, September 17th, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Administrative Team welcomes you to meet with them in the auditorium for a presentation from 5:30 p.m. – 5:55 p.m. After the presentation, you will have the opportunity to follow your student’s schedule, visit their classrooms and meet their teachers.

Carver Cares Remembrance by Candlelight

Carver Cares is hosting an Evening of Remembrance at the Carver Public Library on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 5-7pm.

We are gathering at 5pm at the Library with local providers who will have resource tables and information to share.

At 6pm, the coalition will lead a Candlelight Vigil to Honor and Remember our loved ones who we have lost to overdose.

Legos for the “WIN”

Grade 6 students are already adjusting to their new school experience at Carver Middle High and are having fun learning in their new classes including the “Student Choice” WIN Blocks where students like Declan Oster, Luke Garnett and Duncan Hoekema were able to sign up for activities like Mrs. Booth’s “LEGO WIN.”

 

 

Banner Reveal

In August, the Athletic Department hosted the Banner Reveal Ceremony which included the newly renovated gym foyer including individual achievements and an an interactive T.V. highlighting everything from schedules to team photos, achievements and more!

Pathways on the Move!

This spring several teachers participated in an externship with local Pathways partners which included Flexo Concepts our MET lead partner who hosted MET Teacher Mr. Arruda and the Wildlands Trust who hosted science teacher Ms. Whalen.

The Wildlands Trust asked Ms. Whalen to reflect on her experience and she shared “I will be using everything I’ve learned to help guide instruction in my Principles of Ecology class this fall.
