Current Fundraisers and Community Service Opportunities

Recycle your textiles such as stuffed animals, shirts, hats, and more! Please donate textiles in ANY CONDITION, as long as it’s clean and dry.  A Bay State Textile recycling bin is located outside the Middle School Gym or Elementary  Parking Lot.

Recycle your old cell phones and ink jets. A collection bin is located in Room 112. Juniors and Seniors earn community service hours for participating!

Pull Tabs for Charity
Please donate pull-tabs or “pop-tops” from beverage cans for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The money raised is used to purchase items for patient care. Pull-tabs or “pop-tops” may be dropped off in the office or Mr. Wechter’s room. The tabs are the only pure aluminum part of the can, and the cans may still be returned for deposit even after the tabs are removed. Year round community service. (*Gr.11/12 comm. service: 1 hr/small sandwich bag; 3 hr. cap)

French Week at CMHS 3/7-11

French Week Overview by Carly Cretinon

On Monday March 7th through March 11, the Spanish and French National Honor Society (SFNHS) will be hosting a French Week at Carver Middle High School (CMHS) in order for students to get involved in French culture.

Mrs. Calvo previously stated that one of the missions of the SFNHS is to promote culture. Language classes are not just one additional subject that you take and that is it. It is not only about learning the language, it is also about the culture. Since many Middle School students will have their first year of a language next year, Mrs. Calvo wants them to know that French is not only a language or subject. There is an amazing culture that goes along with it too, as there are 40 countries where French is spoken as an official language. French Week will be a fun and engaging way for students to get excited about taking a language next year.

The SFNHS, with the support of the Allied Arts Department and Administration, has been planning French Week for quite some time now.   They will all be contributing to the expected success of Carver’s first “French Week”.

Every morning of French Week, members of the SFNHS will commence the giveaways for students. The cafeteria has planned a French menu; French-speaking music will be played before classes start and students can enjoy cartoons and movies in French during lunch.  On the last day, the Culinary Arts students will bake “madeleines” for every student.   Also, members of SFNHS will be in school at the parent-teacher conferences to welcome parents, invite them to take pictures w/ props, and receive some gift bags as well.

You may remember Hispanic Week back in the first Semester.  We are all expecting the same fun and success with French Week.

Parent Teacher Conference Sign Ups Open 3/1

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in person on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 12p.m. – 2p.m. AND 6p.m. – 8p.m.
For your convenience, we will continue to schedule conferences ONLINE.

THE SIGNUP GENIUS portal will be open for scheduling as of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, and will close on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.

Updated Guidance – Masks on School Buses Optional

On Friday, February 25, 2022, the CDC announced that it is no longer required that masks be worn on school buses.  In response, DESE has updated their guidance and is also no longer requiring that masks be worn on the bus.

The Carver Public Schools is adopting the updated CDC and DESE guidance and effective this afternoon, it will be a student’s choice if they want to wear a mask on the bus.  As in school, any individual who wishes to continue to mask will be supported in that choice.
