Matthew Lennox – Boys Basketball
Matthew Lennox had a strong week, scoring 16 points against Westport and 15 points against Middleboro in two closely contested games. Both matchups came down to the final moments, and Matthew consistently made the right plays under pressure. Beyond his scoring, Matthew made a big impact on the defensive end with timely stops in key moments. His poise, composure, and leadership helped guide the team when it mattered most.
Charlotte Rogers – Girls Basketball
Charlotte Rodgers made an impressive impact in her first varsity start against Mashpee, stepping into the lineup with confidence and composure. She finished the game with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, showing her ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. Charlotte’s energy and effort were evident throughout the game, as she battled on the boards and made smart plays in key moments.
Congratulations to Crusader Track and Field Athlete, Emma Wall, who set new indoor track and field school record in the Girls High Jump at 5’2.25″.

BRANDON FRATES
Brandon followed up a career high 15 points vs Sturgis with 11 points vs Randolph. Including the game tying 3 pointer to send the game to OT, then the game winner in OT. Brandon continues his hard work from the off season and is starting to see results at the varsity level. Brandon is also a nominee for the Patriot Ledger Athlete of the Week!
LEVON MULREADY
Levon has been a driving force for our team this season, serving as our captain and setting the standard every time he steps on the ice. His leadership is evident in both his work ethic and his relentless desire to win, which has become contagious throughout the locker room. He truly embodies our team mantra of “add to the dash,” consistently adding to the legacy of excellence within our program through his leadership and competitive spirit. Through the first 8 games, he has tallied 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points. Defensively, his commitment is just as strong, as he is averaging over one blocked shot per game and sacrificing his body to help the team succeed.

HAZEL BUTTERWORTH
Hazel has broken a school record for the 2 mile with a time of 11m 57s and the 600m with a time of 1:46:75. Hazel has qualified for states in the 2 mile and 1 mile. She also earned First Team Patriot Ledger All Scholastics of Cross Country. Hazel continues to have an outstanding and record breaking year.
JAKE HOLDEN
Jake broke the school record for the 600m and qualified for states in the 600m time of 1:26:03. At the Mercury games, Jake placed 2nd out of 30 in the 600m. Jake set a PR in the 1000 this season as well. Jake continues to lead by example and improve each week.
COLESON TULLY
Coleson Tully, Senior Captain of the Wrestling Team, is a four time sectional finalist, four time league all star, Patriot Ledger All Scholastic, Marshfield Holiday Champion and Outstanding Wrestler and 2025 State Champion. As of Saturday, January 10, 2026, he now holds the Carver Middle High School record for most career wins surpassing a 25 year old record of 177 – and the season is far from over!

JOSIE HELMS
Josie Helms has been named Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance and leadership on the court. A sophomore starter, Josie has stepped into a key role this season. Most recently, she had a standout game against Leominster finishing with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals, helping to drive the team’s success. Josie’s impact goes beyond the stat sheet as she continue to set the tone for her teammates and elevate the team’s play.
AARON REED
Aaron opened the season with an impressive start, going undefeated for the first 7 matches of the season and winning most by pin. Aaron was the 150lb. champion of the Sandwich Early Bird Tournament and was named Outstanding Wrestler. Now, just a month into the season, he maintains an impressive 16-1 record and has captured another tournament championship at 150lb. at Whitman-Hanson.

Congratulations to Senior Crusader athlete Alyssa Virden who set a new Indoor Track and Field Long Jump record at 15’9″ and to Crusader athlete Hazel Butterworth who set new record for the Girls Indoor Track 2 mile – a record originally set by Crusader Alumni Track Coach Laicey Ieronimo almost ten years ago.

Congratulations to Maeve Zakrzewski who was nominated as the post season Volleyball Player of the Year by the Patriot Ledger and placed 2nd with more than 13,000 votes!
Congratulations to Senior Crusader Athlete Colin Eakins who reached a career milestone of over 1,000 receiving yards! Colin finished the 2025-2026 football season with a recorded 1,017 career yards.

ALANA BURBINE
Alana has been a strong and reliable defender all season, always holding her ground and making smart plays under pressure. She played an especially impressive game during our state tournament, showing confidence and determination. Off the field, Alana is an excellent student who brings the same focus and work ethic to the classroom as she does to the game.
TEAGAN ZAKRZEWSKI
Senior captain, running back, and linebacker Teagan Zakrzewski has been a dominant two-way player for Carver Football. His toughness, effort, and leadership set the tone for the entire team. Whether powering through defenders on offense or making key stops on defense, Teagan’s consistency and drive make him a well-deserved Athlete of the Week.

LUKE MALONEY
Luke has been a consistent leader throughout the season, setting the tone with dedication and work ethic during practices and meets. Luke ran a new PR of 17:44 in the South Shore League Meet on Thursday 10/23. He placed 9th overall, earning recognition at the awards ceremony, and he was the top finisher for Carver. Luke is a senior captain.
MAEVE ZAKRZEWSKI
Senior Captain Maeve has been a cornerstone of the volleyball program, playing for five years and setting the tone for leadership and hard work. This season, she has recorded an impressive 125 blocks and 155 kills, making her a dominant force at the net. Beyond her stats, Maeve leads by example, motivating her teammates and fostering a positive, competitive spirit both on and off the court. Her dedication and passion for the game make her an outstanding Captain.

HUNTER THOMAS
Hunter works tirelessly as one of our starting outside midfielders who constantly is running box to box. He has to work on both ends of the field by defending for us, and then creating offense on the opposite end. This week he was able to secure a hat-trick for us and put in a solid all around performance to help us get the win.
COLIN EAKINS
Colin Eakins on Friday night had 8 catches, 156 yards receiving and 2 touchdown receptions while also having 7 carries and 35 yards rushing on the ground. In the last 4 games he has 27 catches, 534 yards receiving and 5 touchdown catches. Whether making key catches on offense or locking down opponents on defense, he continues to be a dependable leader and competitor every week.

ADDISON KNALL
Adi plays with heart, hustle, and steady hands that keep our offense running strong. She leads with composure, sets her teammates up for success, and inspires the team through her role as captain. She has been, and continues to be, a driving force behind the team’s success.
TARYN BARKOWSKY
Taryn is an exceptional leader and a true example of dedication and hard work. In her second season as captain, she continues to set the standard for excellence through her strong work ethic, passion, and competitive skill set. Her leadership both on and off the mat inspires her teammates to give their best every day.

CHARLES DONOVAN – Golf
Charlie has shown great leadership this season. His play helped the Crusaders to win 4 of their final 5 matches to close the season. Charlie was low medalist in the final match of the season vs. Rising Tide. He also improved his average by 3.4 strokes per round from the previous season.
CHARLOTTE ROGERS – Soccer
Freshman defender Charlotte Roger’s relentless effort and outstanding defensive play has earned her Athlete of the Week. While defenders don’t always show up on the state sheet, Charlotte constantly shuts down opponents, protects her keeper, and controls her side of the field with confidence and toughness.
Congratulations to Hazel Butterworth who was voted the Girls Midseason Cross Country Runner of the Year by the Patriot Ledger with more than 36,500 votes.

Kudos to our Fall Sports Captains at Carver Middle High School who attended a leadership summit with other South Shore League captains. It was a day filled with speakers and activities about leadership, culture, teamwork and overcoming adversity.

HAZEL BUTTERWORTH – Cross Country
Hazel won her first ever cross country race in a time of 21:49 setting a middle school record in the 5K! Hazel continues to prove herself to be a highly competitive runner with each cross country meet.
GRACE HYLAND – Volleyball
In our first five games this year, her stats already include over 50 digs and a serving accuracy of 90%. Grace’s ability to move and cover the entirely of the court is critical to our team’s defense and her positive attitude lifts up all of her teammates every day.

RYAN LABELLE – Soccer
Ryan contributed to the team’s firs point of the season with an assist to set yo the goal by Mitch Sawicki. He has worked hard on both offense an defense, being the main catalyst for both sides. As a Captain, he will continue to lead this young group with his leadership and hardworking in order to aet an example for the team.
HAYLIE ALSHEIMER – Soccer
Haylie has proven to be a great role model serving 2 years as a team captain. This year Haylie has 2 goals and continues to be the versatile and a realizable player she is. Haylie also proudly earned her spot on the 2024 Patriot Ledger All Scholastic Team. Haylie looks forward to leading this team again in 2025!
