PENNY WARS/COSTUMES FOR A CURE

High School student council (teaming with NHS) has organized a school wide fundraiser week for Make a Wish Foundation.  “Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes.”   beginning next Monday (October 27th) the high school students will compete in a “Pennies War” where each grade will have a large plastic jug in the cafeteria and will be encouraged to donate pennies in their own grade level jug and place silver coins (nickels, dimes and quarters) and paper money (dollars) in other grade level jugs. Pennies are positive and all other denominations of money (silver coins and dollars) are negative.  The grade that has the highest positive number or lowest negative number (closest to zero) will win.

Then on Friday, October 31 they will also be hosting Costumes for a Cure for students/faculty grades 6-12 where they can donate $2 to wear a costume to school for the day (costumes must still adhere to handbook guidelines)

STUDENT COUNCIL AND NHS HAS A GOAL TO EARN $1000 BETWEEN THE PENNIES WARS AND THE COSTUMES FOR KIDS NEXT FRIDAY ON HALLOWEEN!!!
