Fall 2022: Boys Soccer Updates

The CMHS Athletic Department would like to congratulate Mark Showan on his recent appointment as our Boys Head Soccer Coach.  Coach Showan is no stranger to our sports programs, as he is currently the Head Coach of our Boys Varsity Basketball Program.  We look forward to working with Coach Showan in rebuilding our boys soccer program, beginning this fall.

CMHS will offer a sub varsity boys soccer team for the upcoming Fall 2022 season, based on the number of registrations collected.  Students in 7th grade are now eligible to register, along with grades 8-12.

The team will practice 2-3 times per week and will play a league and non league schedule.  Opponents will be determined based on the strength and age make-up of the team. 7th graders on the team can also participate in town youth soccer – we will work with CYSA to avoid practice and game conflicts.

Team practices will be held early evenings beginning after Labor Day.

The team is designed to begin the process of rebuilding the soccer program.  It will focus on transitioning youth players to a HS program, while encouraging new players to come out and learn the game.

More information will be shared at the fall sports meeting on 8/1, 5:30pm in the high school auditorium, where you will be able to meet with Coach Showan following the parent/athlete meeting.

If you have questions prior to the meeting you can email Athletic Director Phyllis Bowie at [email protected] or Coach Showan at [email protected].
